Hi all,
I am really sorry, but i have looked at the newbies guide and i am finding it really difficult to follow and also some comments are saying things are outdated - i am at a loss!
I came home from work to a message from my in-laws: (late 70's)
So the crux of the matter is they have a disabled badge, but due to no spaces and appointment time ticking on, they parked the grass verge.
They returned to find a ticket on the windscreen for £60 or £30 if paid within 30 days and issued by Total Parking Solutions Ltd.
Any advice would be appreciated.

After spending half hour riding round Boston Pilgrim, Lincolnshire, hospital carpark trying to find a space and as appointment time was due decided to follow suit and park on the grass verge and this morning found a ticket for 60 pounds they must be making a packet as its evident there are not enough space

First, where do you see comments referring to "outdated" advice here?
Your in laws (or you acting for them in their name) should follow the advice in the newbies faq thread near the top of the forum (which definitely is bang up to date)
At the same time they should complain at the hospital to get this cancelled (via PALS office)0 -
Where to find the current advice is in my signature, just click the back button a couple of times, it was staring at you where you clicked 'NEW THREAD'. You can read the NEWBIES thread and we won't be re-writing it for each person.
Look below this reply for where to click, one click, or 'back' a few times to where you started. You simply read 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' and if you think it is out of date, check the date it was last edited (not the date I started it).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Thanks for the replies, i have had another look and am a little further forward, but not fully
The guide talks about private issued tickets, but i am concerned that as TPS have been employed by the hospital, then they are authorised to issue tickets and therefore enforceable?
If not, it looks like my steps are to complain to the Hospital Direct via their PALS - is there any template letters others have successuly used?
And also appeal to PPC as TPS are a BPA member? ( i can see the letter template for this part).
I appreciate people have taken the time to put the guide together, but to a complete newbie and my quite aged in-laws, the guide is quite confusing (sorry).0 -
It does take a while to understand - though you seem to be getting there.
Being "authorised" by a hospital is no different to being "authorised" by Aldi/Morrisons/McDs etc
Don't go away thinking that because its a hospital's ppc they have more right to pursue you than a supermarket's ppc!0
