Not winning anything

  • No idea why you have two twitter and two facebook accounts. I'd be very careful. Facebook will close them but more importantly most compers especially on fb get really angry at people doing that and consider it cheating. Also i'm not sure if your post is a bit tongue in cheek complaining that you haven't won in 8 weeks so should you give up lol Its not quite that easy or fast most of the time. You could win quickly or you might not win a bean for months.

  • That will explain why I have never won on Twitter then, my tweets total about 1000 altogether!!!! I don't bother with FB as friends get annoyed when you have to share everything!

You can have more than one Twitter account without issue, so there may be entrants on the twitter comps who enter competitions with more than one account...

I've only had one win in four years, despite entering 2-300 comps a week (including Facebook and Twitter) - it's the luck of the draw, I'm afraid.

You may win something tomorrow, you may not have a win for years to come. But like xoxlauraxox said, you've got to be in it to win it!
  • Twitter also has a "healthy" bot community - which means for your single entry some people are entering 20 or 30 times. You can see the effect on RT and like domps where there are a lot less likes than RTs. OK I understand some manual entries won't like but not in the sheer numbers on the comp

  • I've entered hundreds maybe even thousands of competitions over the last six months and I've never won a thing. It happens, when there's only one or two prizes and thousands of entries the chances of winning are very small. I just keep trying :)

Hello I've come back to comping and have 2 email Facebook and twitter accounts. I have been entering lots of twitter competitions and in 2 months have won nothing . Any tips or should I just give up. Thanks John:eek:

I would spend more time on one account entering competitions than on 2, if they notice you have two accounts, Facebook may close both of them and if you do win, they are likely to select another winner as most competitions are one entry per person.

2 months isn't all that long when it comes to wins, sadly some people haven't won over a few months to a year, if not longer. If you are thinking about quitting then you could always put your time into doing surveys which is guaranteed towards money, if you qualify.
For most people comping is a hobby and we do it for fun as well as loving a win or two, but if we get bored or annoyed with it, it is good to step away for awhile and come back when and if you feel you'd like to, focusing our time and energy onto other things.

Unfortunately some people can enter 100 competitions and win 50 of them, another person might be entering 1000 competitions and may only win 1.

I must have entered around 5000+ competitions on Twitter and only won once, but a lot of people dislike giving prizes to people who have a twitter full of competitions so they are likely to redraw depending on their terms and conditions and values.

    Competitions to enter
If you like books I'd strongly recommend entering for books on GoodReads, people often get regular wins for books.
Quizonaut is another site to enter daily that you are likely to get a win from (just say no to their points system and their mouse mats and CD's aren't worth claiming)
Rafflecopters are good competitions to enter as many people do not enter them as they can be a bit of a pain to enter, but I and many others here have received many wins from Rafflecopters in the past.
With Facebook you are better off entering smaller companies prizes rather than the well known companies, or joining groups that host competitions. So if you are into crafting then craft groups or into Xbox then xbox groups. I've received many Facebook wins from smaller companies, but never won anything from the larger stores.

Look for local or collection only competitions in your area, these will generally have less entries and higher chance of you winning.

The less entries the higher the chance of winning, so look for competitions that have around 0-400 entries on closing day.

Good Luck, I'm sure you will have some wins heading your way soon!
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.
