Not winning anything

Hello I've come back to comping and have 2 email Facebook and twitter accounts. I have been entering lots of twitter competitions and in 2 months have won nothing . Any tips or should I just give up. Thanks John:eek:

The Quality of comp prizes has gone down over the last few years most likely due to the recession and there are thousands of more people trying to win. with regards to twitter comps if you are not in the right clique you do not stand much of a chance of winning, I have done over 28000 tweets and only won 1 prize.
I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus

More than one account is generally frowned upon in the comping community (if you use them all to comp) - and if FB find out (which they apparently can do quite easily), they will remove both your accounts.

As said, it is very hard to win on FB and twitter. Two months is nothing. I get a win every 6-12 months on twitter (something tiny) and hardly ever on FB.

I've tweeted over 5000 Twitter comps and had won NADA. I thought it was about time I won but 28000 tweets is a big figure.

  • Just keep going, 2 months isn't long especially when it can take weeks to hear about a win.

I've won some nice things on Twitter (a bluetooth player worth £30 just today) so it's worth keeping going since it's so easy to enter. Especially with the phone app.

    Good luck :)

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I agree with Jambo regarding Twitter comps. I still do them but chances are slim.

Comping was so much better before twitter, social media makes it easier for people to judge.. easier for people to be picky about winners... easier for people to cheat... and the forum has changed a lot too.

Saying that, I don't dwell. I just keep on going :) gotta be in it to win it:j:j:j:j
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:
  • Hello newbie here, why is twitter comps considered lower chances?

Hello newbie here, why is twitter comps considered lower chances?

because of how easy they are to enter they tend to get a lot of entries making the odds of winning lower.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

  • John; Coincidentally I have been thinking along the same lines. I have just checked my twitter account which has over 11.1k tweets; the vast majority are comps over a period of 18 months. In that time I won a pack of crisps, a modeling knife (never delivered) and a pair of Skoda sunglasses!
aphorism: is an original thought, spoken or written in a laconic and memorable form.
  • I also think your chances are even lower if you enter a lot of comps. I think they prefer winners who have hundreds of followers. I only have 78!
