Already mentioned in the Premium Bond thread but all NS&I savings rates will be reduced from 1 May 2017, making the safe place for large balances less rewarding

Well they can't touch my Index linked savings certs for now'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

By then I will be long gone with the rewards from the index linked savings I left in last March,I was unsure but turning out to be a good call0

Pretty obvious that all the other banks will soon follow, so looks like 0.75% is going to be about the best you can expect.
Wonder if the BofE are getting ready to drop interest rates to 0% come May/June especially if we get more monthly house price falls.0 -

disheartening time for cautious investors.
And you still want to get significantly above base rate on your savings?0 -
Carney will never increase the rate.
He is in the pockets of the institutions who are making billions
whilst rates are low at the expense of savers.
He has continuously got his predictions wrong yet still keeps his "job".0
