Reclaiming deceased person's bank charges?

Hi,
My father died in December 2016 after a 3 month stay in hospital when he was unable to manage his bank account. During this time he incurred bank charges of £35 a month due to unauthorized overdraft. Can I claim this money back, or even any other bank charges over the last 6 years? The bank have closed his account and asked me to sign a personal indemnity form before they can release his funds into my account. If I sign this, will I waiver any rights to claim historic bank charges?
I'd be grateful for any advice. Thanks

However, you may get a goodwill refund of charges incurred while he was in hospital if you explain the circumstances.
Do note, though, that the Bank are under no obligation to refund anything at all.
You have no such "rights" in the first place since any refund of Bank charges is a goodwill gesture. Historic bank charges cannot be "claimed".Mazling235 wrote: »will I waiver any rights to claim historic bank charges?
The only customers receiving refunds of Bank charges are those in CURRENT financial hardship and those who have had charges applied in error. You don't appear to meet either criteria.0 -
What happened with your other potential bank charges complaint from a year ago?

I'm not sure where that post is. I find it quite difficult to navigate this site.0
