I think with HSBC you have a customer area when you log into your account? You culd try emailing them from there.
Mail - if you have a branch send to that but signed for. Make sure you also cancel the CPA with the creditor - it's an obligation from both them and your bank once the CPA has been cancelled to not process further payments.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Reporting your card lost/stolen, has a similar effect.
The CPA relates specifically to the information on the card, your replacement card info will be different, therefore any attempt to debt your account, using info from your old card, will fail.
The same applies to the expiry date, and the security number on the reverse, any one of those things dosent match there records, the transaction will fail.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi
I can’t help with contact details for HSBC but this payday loan factsheet has some information on cancelling a CPA which might be useful. You actually only need to inform your card issuer or the creditor that the CPA is being withdrawn and they should honour that, although it’s best to inform both if you can.
