    As to why bother.... just out of curiosity really and future experience. I also rather oddly like searching flight prices and hotels.

    I already expect it to go up so I will not be that irritated really.

    I'm anorak'y enough to monitor my "ideal" itinerary for the months leading up to when my dates become available, so I know where you're coming from.
    Happily enough, its also proven to be VERY Murphy wallet friendly doing it this way, rather than hanging on.

    If you are looking at travelling ex-eu, be inventive and very open minded about your potential routes.
    Also, look closely at departing ex-eu, but returning to your UK airport of choice. You MIGHT just get a very pleasant surprise (for me, returning to EDI, rather than DUB worked out several hundred pounds cheaper per person)
