What about the local CAB, are they clueless? I thought the CAB 'got it' that in Scotland there is no keeper liability.

Not driving = not liable in Scotland.

Thanks i have heard Scottish CAB have a great reputation in particular Aberdeen but when i contacted Dundee CAB they just put me in contact with the in court team who advised on the process of appearing in court. All my advise so far has been from Pepipoo

I'm assuming from various pending court cases either for similar to mine or various other offenses, just heard from somebody that seemed to know a fair bit about it. They were from upper management of the hospital so would assume they'd have a rough idea.

The only solicitor i've spoken to who has a good reputation for taking on these cases wanted £500 plus vat to take on the case and see it through to the end. When i asked to come discuss prior to deciding next decision i was advised that there is no free consultation and the consultation charges are £6 plus vat per unit (6 minutes per unit).

I couldn't believe the costs. For a £1088 court case i'd be may as well offering the £600 to settle early.

hmmm so probably needs further investigation.

I really fail to see where the solicitor has a good reputation in Scotland taking on parking companies ?
Sounds like heads they win and tails they win ..... you could lose.

Hopefully a sheriff will get to grips with this. Have you discussed this with Trading Standards Scotland

Sorry - but I just about had a coffee-spluttering moment there.

When it comes to parking, Aberdeen CAB is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. The way they screwed-up a near open and shut case last year stands in testament to that, not to mention on the continued operation of several car parks with planning conditions that PPCs routinely ignore. :(

IME Elgin CAB are no better and maybe actively avoidant of anything that might get them into the bad books of the local titans of commerce and get them bothering their pals on the cooncil.

Dundee I had hoped might be better as they have been effective on other matters for a friend in your area - but she can be a firebrand anyway.

    :(

Thats not good was the BPMA that said to try them and then said Aberdeenshire had been really good. Maybe i just got somebody that was no use when i tried to contact them, unfortunately needs to be handed in tomorrow so probably too late now for Dundee CAB.

Trading Standards Scotland tried this a couple of years ago.
They lost because they had a poor solicitor

I don't know if they have improved but I guess revenge is the action so well worth a try.

Local press is a good idea as well as your local MP.
All depends if you want to create a 50 mph wind or a full scale tornado

The latter will depend on how aggressive you are.

Indigo are being aggressive so whoop them up and make them look a scam in Dundee .... that's what they are

Hey Shamish .... throughout the UK, THE CAB are the biggest load of rubbish ever set up by government.

I have experienced the CAB with a lady who was having problems with her Ex not paying maintenance. I went along to see what they would say.

The stupid advisor just typed in keywords and printed off what is found on the internet.

Stupid people and wasting government money

Thanks, the Dundee courier are quite anti PPC they run a series of articles not so long ago stating there is nothing the PPC can do in Scotland and just to ignore the tickets similar to advice giving in most places. I have thought about contacting them and I'm sure they would be interested as the local media seems to have a severe lack of newsworthy storys and have been running garbage recently, but i'm unsure if i would want my mug in the newspaper.

I think writing to Nicola Sturgeon could be good and maybe the health secretary who is also an MP in Dundee.

Thats a shame though i did get told similar from somebody else thats what CAB did and basically said well you did get the ticket and it was your fault so pay them. Suppose it depends on luck as to whom you speak too. I'm quite good at the online searches so have done most of it myself online with a lot of guidance from everyone else online who has been great and probably much more knowledgeable than others. Not looking forward to taking to the stand though,.

    Very good plan.
