Wireless TV senders

I am thinking about buying a wireless tv sender so I can watch my sky+ plus box upstairs. I have looked at a couple and both said that you cant control the sky box from the sender, which is quite important. I have also looked at magic eyes, but these involve cabling which I don't want to do.
I was wondering what other folks have done and how they have done it.
Many Thanks in Advance

we pay an extra ten quid per month to have a 2nd sky box upstairs. Found it to be easier than wireless sender. Cos im assuming youd have to watch upstairs what was being watched downstairs...?!0

That isn't an issue, as there is only me here0 -
Maybe one of these in conjunction with a standard video sender would do what you want?0

I have a Philips video sender and it does allow you control the Sky+ box from the second room (all functions, record, pause, rewind, playback etc). I bought a second Sky+ remote to keep in the bedroom, the model I've got came with a 'remote extender' wire but I didn't need to use it as it worked without it. The only oddity is that I have to keep the wastepaper bin (one of those wire mesh ones) in front of the Sky+ box in the living room as if I don't the remote doesn't work from the second room0

Which model do you have??0 -
If you look at the reviews on Amazon here one reviewere says it doesn't work with the Panasonic box and that Philips say it won't work with some manufacturers' equipment.
I suspect this is a risk with any of them.
However, Amazon would take it back if it didn't work - as would most places - so you haven't got a lot to lose.
I'm still chuckling over that waste paper basket thing above (I've done similar things in the past). Does one come with the unit or do you have to buy it separately?0 -

It's a Philips SBC VL 1200, several years old now so probably not made anymore... There's two on ebay at the moment though (no, neither of them are mine!). Unfortunately they don't come with a wastepaper basket though :rotfl:

I only discovered the wastepaper basket thing when we were setting it up, my friend was upstairs and after plugging everything in I shouted up 'Try it now'... 'Yep, works fine' at which point I step away from the TV and he shouts down 'Oh, the remotes stopped working'. Cue around 45 mins of wire fiddling and stepping away from the TV only to realise that it only seemed to receive the remote signal when I was stood in front of it. Thought a wastepaper bin might be more practical than standing in front of the first TV all the time!FallingDownMan wrote: »You can only be a student if you do that:):)
