    Why do you keep lying?

To be honest with you the amount of lies you tell on here and you even admitted to playing around with details on the Halifax eligibility checker to see if your chances of eligibility were higher, who knows why you were 85-90% eligible for an AMEX. Possibly perhaps because you entered false information whereas if you told the truth, you wouldn't have added yet another hard search to your file.

You are a student. You are not in full-time employment. Those facts are what you should be putting in your eligibility checker forms and then see what the true results would be.

Stop wasting your time (and hard searches) trying to be someone you are not because if you carry on the way you are, you will end up with a CIFAS marker against you for application fraud.

If you actually bothered to read any of my other threads or posts, you'll realise I am earning solely over 20k from finding yet another job. And if you read the other thread properly, you'll realise I was running the soft searches just changing my DOB to see if they could even find me still, when I was shocked that I was.

I'm not lying about anything to be fair

You know its funny, I've actually read a lot of your posts - they crop up on threads or posts I think I'll be interested in reading.

Not to cause an argument but from my perspective - you are quite inconsistent and flighty in the information you provide.

For example 4 days ago, you stated you had just started a new part time job, then before that student and other jobs etc. If you are constantly changing your income levels on applications for example because you've changed jobs this flags when the information is reviewed. Say one week you put 21k, then 3 weeks later you put 22k, then 4 weeks after that you put 20k. Creditors aren't ignorant:

"What's more, banks, building societies, credit card and loan companies have increasingly sophisticated databases, and can connect data about you from a number of different sources to build up a profile of your financial life."

I am clearly making an assumption here but if you've initially listed yourself as a student and then your job title keeps changing along with your salary, then you are shooting yourself in the foot. Like I said I am making assumptions here, but this is the overall picture that your posts paint.

ALSO - you haven't been earning 20k for a sustained period of time

I think this is why you are receiving responses that you might not like.

As an alternative, I would recommend getting Barclaycard to switch your current freedom card to the Barclaycard Duo (only available to existing customers).

This consists of both a Visa card and Amex under the same credit card account, you'll get 1% cashback on the Amex and where this isn't accepted, 0.5% on the Visa card.

Barclaycard are likely to use existing payment history instead of a credit check when applying.

Well you're right in saying I haven't received it for a prolonged time ad that I agree with, although I did start this job earlier this week but it's been in planning for a while now. I've had numerous jobs before this one too, apart from a short period last Summer where I went travelling instead.

Yes I am a student, but like I said previously, I have more work more than I have classes these days

It's difficult to get much more value than a penny a point from a MR point. As such, the cashback card will likely be worth more.

That said, if you're in a position where you're profiting from a cashback card, you're probably bright enough to generate more cash in other ways. Points are more enjoyable to stash and redeem than an annual payment which won't add up to a significant amount without putting well into 5 figures through the cashback card!

The only use I really have for a cashback card is paying off the HMRC!

Just remember - your opinion of what you are classed as or how much money you earn on average doesn't really matter in commercial terms. Like I said, if your income and job title have differed across applications then it will have flagged up, making you less desirable as a customer. Maybe pause any applications for a little while and see what happens in 6 months?

The last credit applications I did out through were over six months ago though :) Although putting the credit searches on hold will be a good idea, I just wanted a change
