First thing to do is to make sure Australia actually want you!

If you have three school age children and jobs lined up, there shouldn't be a problem.

Have you ever been to Australia? If you have then we'll done on making some positive decisions in your life.

If you haven't then please, please go an visit before you decide on a life changing decision.

Australia and New Zealand are fab places for the right people but can be torment for those who make the wrong choice.

I have a friend who decided to emigrate, she and her family lasted six weeks, ( not long enough to make it work I know) she hated the weather, the culture (or lack of it), the way she felt Aussies treated women. Their furniture made an expensive round trip to Oz and back with out ever coming out of the container!

Do lots of investigating, good start here.

I'd use an agent as a last resort, spend time on emigration forums, find out what (if any) visa routes are open to you and what others experience was. From your username you're likely over 30 so that reduces your options so unless you are seriously wealthy you'll need to find a job in advance that is willing to support your visa application.

I know 2 families that have done this...all be it stayed a little longer than 6 weeks. (still a huge financial hit) It seems not uncommon http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-36299682 (I can never understand those that choose to pack up and ship their worldly goods to a country they have never set foot in)
OP - do you have family there already? have you decided on where in Australia you want to settle? spent extended time there? Jobs lined up?
  • As others have said, why Oz? Do you have family there?
  • Maybe I'm wrong but I've got a feeling this thread is a set up for an agent to pop up and say "Use my services! visit my website etc etc"
