That's why I suggested Milton fluid for helping to disinfect the tank and pipes.
Milton is about the most harmless sterilising fluid you can get and although I think it was originally designed for babies' bottles, it can be used for a lot more besides these.0 -

What's a double check valve? And if contamination is a possibility, could this stuff have been getting into my cold water supply for drinks? O.o0

Milton is sodium hypochlorite... Domestos is...sodium hypochlorite, in common parlance, bleach! The rest is marketing!0
