Should I be concerned re my ironing board

I have an old Beldray board with the type of iron rest made from asbestos cement.
Its also had a cover on for a few years now, is this ok?

How do you know it is made from asbestos cement?


There was a product many years ago called asbestolux which looked similar to asbestos, had all the fire retardant qualities of asbestos, but contained no asbestos at all.

If you'e concerned, why not just buy another one?

I already have another just concerned for all the years I used this one, never gave it a thought as it works fine!

This would only be a problem if you broke it up or it crumbled so asbestos particles got into the air.

I had asbestos cement on shed roof so looked into this. As long as it is in one piece then no problem.
