Antenna and satellite

Hi guys,
I bought one of these antenna/satellite and radio single socket but it seems as if it takes one input only?
How can it play satellite and tv on same cable? Different frequency?

Simple answer: yes. It's probably got a splitter to separate out the different frequencies. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
What exactly did you buy - sounds like an antenna OR satellite OR radio socket - or simply a COAX (coaxial) cable socket. How are you meant to get 3 signals out of it? you need to put 3 cables into 3 different devices!0

Looks like this

And can only take one cable , google and youtube it
I think you can join both satellite and tv at an input splitter and then feed the output to all sockets as pictured above
Each device will then pick the right frequency so in essense the coax cable can carry tv , satellite and dab at the same time to multiple sockets
Correct?0 -
You've provided a picture with 3 inputs, but you say yours can only take one. Does yours have 1 input at the front, and the same out the back? If so, I stand by my original post, it doesn't take 3, it takes one.
I've never heard of the kind of device you describe, so you would have to show me.
If it was me, I'd be running the 3 separate cables. Actually, for the satellite, I'd be running shotgun cable (2 stuck together) and I wouldn't be cutting it to plug into a wall socket, as you'll be weakening the signal.0 -
You need a triplexer or loft box to combine the signals so they can be fed by a single cable to the faceplate you have bought. How can it play satellite and tv on same cable? Different frequency?

...and then you'll need something to, um, 'unplex' everything again. Stick with 3 or 4 cables!0

Buy another faceplate instead, one with separate inputs for satellite and freeview. Make sure you get one that is screened to maintain signal quality.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

That should be built into the face plate they have got as it is intended for use with a single cable, however they do need to check they have a triplexer faceplate, I have used them in a previous property to feed a single cable rather than multiple cables to faceplates in three rooms....and then you'll need something to, um, 'unplex' everything again.0
