Anything over 150cm is going to be expensive, unless you have a local parcel broker
Interparcel are charging £14.30+VAT for 1kg 200x10x10cm0 -
Try parcelforce, they do accept larger oversized parcels and the good thing it's all tracked0

I know when I was selling a brand new wooden venetian blind I found it impossible to find a courier to accept anything over 120cms unless you were an account holding business. Royal Mail were far too expensive to make financial sense for any buyer, so I had to list as collection only. I fear this is what you are going to find. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

At a cost of £26.90 / £29.99 (less 10% discount code)
I think the answer to the op's question is no, mainly to the second part
Guess its all in relation to the cost of the fishing rod....Dwy galon, un dyhead,

Exacttly. I have a friend who is carp fishing mad. £30 is a drop in the ocean on his fishing based spend. Weirdo that he is :rotfl:
