Courtesy car - his fault

Hi, i had an accident a few months back and straight away he was saying he was sorry and basically admitting it, i thought it was going to be a straight forward his insurance paying me for my car write-off.
But then he started to dispute the claim apparently i squeezed between him and the parking space and i was going towards the exit and he was going the wrong way in a carpark towards it.

Im 19 years old with less than a years driving experience and was given a 150BHP 2007 Sports Astra which made me very pleased :) ive had it now for about 10 weeks but the other day they said unfortunately they have to terminate the hire vehicle because its costing them 3 times as much (i can imagine)

So now, im left without a vehicle when it wasnt even my fault. Im still waiting for a cheque but their side are being extremely stubborn and completely disputing it so ill probably be left without a car for ages.

I dont have courtesy car cover with my insurance but i understand from this experience that this is only available if its your fault and im guessing the solicitors that got me a courtesy car were hoping to claim what they spend on my courtesy car back.

Is there any way for me to get a courtesy car say a smaller and slower vehicle whilst everything is sorted out because im losing out of transport to college/work when i feel that i didnt do anything wrong. If i was to get a taxi everywhere/bus im guessing i would need to save receipts and claim that back in the end, although i would DEFINATELY prefer a car.

Thanks for reading the lengthy post, and any replies :)

unfortunatly at 19 most hire firms wont touch you.
think you have done well so far.
only option is to pay for a hire car and claim it off the other party.
its a courtesy car not a right im afraid.if you have no hire car cover then what ive outlined above would be your only action i think
