Anyone use a rollerball.

I've got a microsoft rollerball, which i much prefer to a mouse, has anyone got any tips on keeping it running as smooth as when it was new or do these things wear out. I have tried cleaning the ball and the three little things that it spins on which made it a bit better, but is there anything else i can try to make it better.
