If you have Bluetooth on your device any website you visit can collect data from any other device in range that also has Bluetooth turned on.

That may not be a problem to you, not sure that it's a problem to me either.

But then again the water temperature was not a problem to the frog until .......

Interesting but not a problem for me. I turn Bluetooth on, for audio stuff, only when I need it. The article doesn't say how you can disable this 'feature'.

This is pretty obscene, a bit like when they deliberately and with malice aforethought, sent their Streetcars out, broke into people's wifi's, broke into insecure PC's and took documents. They tried to pretend it was an "accident" but their engineer leaked memo where he warned management. I was told that it did not end there and they used these wifi's to get data back to Google HQ,

After reading "in the plex" I am not surprised.

I will not use Google chrome for the same reason I do not use a Win10 box day to day, I value my privacy and do not want a spy.

I do have it on one box where I had to disable the almost malware like behaviour by Google, installing a TWO services to update it AND installing a task in Task Scheduler in case the service has been disabled AND when it detects all of that has been disable by you going to About page, it requests Admin password so it can put it all back in again. NO THANKS GOOGLE, I renamed your update files in the profile anyway and that is another thing, installing in the profile is malware like too. I am still on ver 40 on the one PC I have it on.

There is some irony in this
We've detected you're using an older version of Chrome.Update to stay secure

I have Bluetooth disabled on all devices anyway, I mean disabled, not turned off.

The potential for sniffing by Google on this is huge, especially when merged with the other data Google grabs on your PC, Mobile and on Waze.
