Need some advice on how to block up a doorway

We've got internal double doors and want to free up some wall space in the lounge by blocking up just one of the doors. How would we go about this and what would it cost? Many thanks

Why do you need to block it up? Just use the space in front of it and use the other door.0

If I'm reading correctly and you have a double door of which you want to block half of it off, I believe you'd need to take the doors and woodwork off, build a stud frame to block half, plasterboard, skim, then put the woodwork back on and hang the single door.
Stud, plasterboard and dry wall screws are pretty cheap. Hopefully you can salvage the existing woodwork and use one of the existing doors so the rest is labour.
Unless you can do some/most of this yourself it may be relatively expensive for what you'd gain.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
What him/er above with the huge forum name says.
Probably £100 materials and a day labour for a joiner, then an hr for a plasterer0 -
Think about how you would move furniture in/out before reducing the size of the doorway. Would the remaining door/doors be big enough?0
