Hi Guys, for several days, Mbam keeps popping up telling me of an Outbound threat, Blocked.
It's every few seconds.
In the Logs, its source is protection, and User is System.
The threat is listed as
Sync-eu.exe.bid.50245,( or other port) Outbound
C:/Prog files/Google Chrome/Application/Chrome exe.
I have looked at Chrome, and stopped Google drive syncing, to see if it,s this, but still get the pop-up threat blocked?
Any advice would be appreciated.
It's on my Laptop, W7
False Positive??

    That sound like ransomware trying to phone home to get an encryption key.

    I would be very worried about that and do full virus scan immediately

    Hi Andy, already done that, but not a full one, doing it now.
    May do a boot scan after.
    Just added Adblock plus, as per the link Taddy gave.
    Decided against adware etc.
    See if it still persists?
    Seems it,s a new one, or a false positive.
    Certainly weird.
    Just had Rapport report, and they picked it up on screen capture.blocked it
    See how it goes.:beer::beer:

    @Andy ... If you look at the help thread linked in post #2, you'll find it is adverts in web pages causing this. Install an ad blocker and all should be resolved.

    Thanks DoaM, read it now ..

    Alarming though as this is how an initial infection with ransomware would present
    (Firewall shouting about outgoing connection)

    In Adblock Plus remove the tick from allow some non-intrusive advertising shown under Options.

    Hi Hans, done that.
    Curious as it is, I clicked on an Ad in daily mail, couple of weeks ago, about, computers, something I never do!.showing Windows button, "what not to do, "and Mbam detected it as malicious and blocked it.
    Maybe,s not quick enough.
    Full scan all clear, as I guessed.
    ET. Phone home:)

    Hi, Just to say, ABP has done the trick
    For the first time for ages , I can read my paper without being bombarded with junk Ads.
    Like having a new Pc.
    Cheers all, especially Tadley Baggie.:beer::beer:

    PS; Can I instal an Ad Blocker on Safari on my i-pad, as I get bombarded on the News papers on there too, so much so, I cannot read it ??
    I tend to only use Pc for Media, and I-pad for banking etc.
