Good morning everyone.
The morning looks lovely but we have heavy rain forecast for the afternoon which is less than lovely.
Today I've got a load of 'sorting out' to do and some draft marking which takes up so much time. I've got to stop sitting at the laptop all day it's not healthy and it's giving me a rounded back. I've got an exercise to do which helps but it hurts because my muscles are so tight. It's called Angel Wings though I expect it's got a proper name.
Yogurt and berries for breakfast. I bought more eggs for the rest of the week so I'll boil and mash them later. A friend is coming over later for a chat about their holiday cottages.
Right, I'm getting ready. Happy Monday to all.0 -
Morning all defiantly a chill in the air
Have walked Dolly as we have the boiler man coming to give it a service it is well overdue but finding someone by recommendation has been hard . Had a good weekend but I need to do lots of paperwork and bank account shuffling today
Dinner tonight is leftover turkey from yesterday
Coxy A belated Happy Birthday to your son
Have a great day whatever you are up to0 -
Good morning all,
Lovely crisp morning today.
I had a mostly relaxing weekend. For the firs time, I done a lot of reading, yoga and meditating yesterday so I'm tremendous for the week ahead and ready to tackle anything that comes my way.
Done my big shop yesterday so all my meals are planned for the week ahead, one less headache.
Badminton tonight with the family and again I think I'll do some reading before bed.
Have a super day and week0 -
Morning all.
Not much to report from here. Off to work in a mo....oh joy!!
My wages didn't go in on last week when they should and I was getting worried, but luckily they are there this morning.
Have a good day everyone and take care.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
A busy morning after a horrendous night, the new day bed came into its own, I ended up in there after OH spent 3 hours wriggling about.
Monday clean done, washed the kitchen floor, made scotch broth for lunches, bol sauce for tomorrow and put a loaf on. Shattered now.
OH is having his siesta after polishing the car he washed yesterday, its the mobile library today so some new books, if P is there will ask her for a coffee.
I changed the duvet cober on the bed, as I guessed it was a double so have replaced it with a kingsize, that should stop OH wriggling tonight.
There had been a hard frost overnight, but the sun came up and its mostly eased. I have some washing out so hopefully it will be partially dry.
OH went to the village meeting, we are getting 25 houses in the village with the prospect of another 25 before 2020. The builders have to build an access road though, coming out on Harby Lane. I think the road should come first, any vehicle trying to access the site through the village with large loads will have a job the roads are so narrow. There is also talk of Dairy Lane being made one way. It is very narrow, no room for 2 cars to pass. The school has the accommodation for up to 50 children, at the moment parents are bringing children in from surrounding villages, the standards are so high, it has a very good reputation.
Egg, wedges and beans for supper tonight, I doubt OH can burn that, although you never know.
This week s a big shopping week. I have managed to hold off shopping, we have used up all the meat bar the turkey crown, that was in the freezers, so some stocking up is due.0 -
Afternoon all. Having a mixed up day today. Weather this morning was grey but dry so took the carpet leftover bits to the recycling depot, the called in Li*l as DH wanted some paracord but unfortunately it was too thick for what he wanted.
Returned home to find two letters, one from the retinopathy dept saying DH had a problem so will have to make another GP appointment:(. The other letter was from the water company saying we had been awarded a rebate of £140 off next years bill :j and now it's raining heavily.
Tea today will be Hunters chicken and a few oven chips.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your day.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good evening everyone. Thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to those that need them.
Busy day (well for me anyway), my manager came out for a visit this morning so good to get a chat and a catch up with her. Had physio this afternoon and had a very vigorous massage of my neck and upper back. She said I'll be sore tomorrow but should then feel the benefit when I get "prodded" by the consultant on Wednesday:)
It has been really cold all day and is now stormy and wet and still baltic. My heating's on and I'm well wrapped but can't say I'm feeling particulary cosy
Hope everyone has a good evening x0 -
Hello all,
Busy day today, this morning went to buy gifts for DH's birthday tomorrow. I got him a beauty treatment (hot stone massage) and a lot good quality booze, 6 bottles of good red wine and a few unusual spirits (Victorian rhubarb gin, anyone?). He is so lovely (when he does not drive me nuts) and I really wanted to treat him. Not cheap, but cheaper than a top brand smartphone, which was DS's suggestion.
Cooked and ate lunch (pasta with vege mince and salad) then a friend came to visit.
This afternoon was work with the boys, last week. I will miss them but I am also looking forward to my freedom to do whatever I want any day of the week, go away for the day with DH and also start looking for volunteering on a more regular basis.
Back home, delighted because my dear cleaner has been and done her usual wonderful job. I do t know how she manages so much in 2 hours, and she rarely cuts corners! I really appreciate her fortnightly visits.
Just finished cooking dinner (bean and veg soup with buckwheat, cooked apples with cashew cream) and the woodstove is lit in the Living room, it is nice and cosy.
Between 8 and 10 pm DH's gifts will be delivered, can't wait to see his face!
Have a good evening. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening all,
Laptop problems again this morning it seems to be stuck on windows updates now !! back to the bloke who fixed it tomorrow !
Went into work today and requested a supervision with my manager we are doing it Thursday and I want to get all my points across, I am not sure what good it will do but worth a chance, we are supposed to have a supervision once a month and an appraisal once every six months because its such a stressful job, Ive been there over three years and never had one !
Went to the Dr today as I have found a small lump in my breast, he has referred me to the breast clinic so I should get an appointment within two weeks, he did not seem overly worried so I will try to keep calm, I have had two lumps before that turned out to be harmless cysts so fingers crossed.
Meatballs and spaghetti for dinner, might have a small glass of something medicinal tonight while watching the last Apple Tree Yard which has been brilliant.
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
DS rang very upset. One of his operatives was killed in a hit and run last night on her way home from work. He was trying to get her promoted because she was so good. It's so sad and there is so little I can do to help him.0
