Current account with free monthly paper statements

Hello. Can anyone recommend a bank which still provides free monthly paper statements for a current account? My 85 year old godmother used to get her balance from her local branch, which closed a few months ago. She tells me she has not had a paper statement since October.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Do the "traditional" high street banks not offer paper statements unless you were to opt out via online banking?
I can understand a charge for a duplicate statement.
Frequency may be a problem, if your grandmother does not have a lot of transactions on the account the banks own systems revert the frequency to quarterly or even half yearly to save paper and costs.
If she is ok with the telephone, most phone banking services offer balance/statement enquiries.
If she has a mobile many banks can do text alerts and send out a weekly balance/mini statement.
She never wanted to do online?0 -
She does not need to get a new bank - just telephone/write to them stating she NEEDS monthly statements.
As long as there are transactions monthly on the account it should not be a problem.
(I suspect that banks have been migrating customers to a longer time scale with customers' statements to save postage costs)0 -
I receive monthly paper statements on some accounts - I have never been asked to pay for them.
What information was your godmother given prior to the closing of her branch?0 -
