Wrong car registration no.

Hi,
I have received a PCN from Minster Baywatch on my windscreen but one letter of the car reg is wrong!
I was going to appeal as I was 39 mins overdue but this was due to medical reasons.
I am diabetic and was feeling ill and had to eat before being able to move the car.
As they have the wrong car reg, should I ignore it?

It is possible that the reg number has been deliberately written incorrectly to encourage the motorist to 'phone up and give away the driver's details, saving the parking scammers money by not having to pay the DVLA to get the keeper information, and to get the motorist to stupidly throw away the protection of the Protection of Freedom Act 2012.

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then wait for the NTK to arrive in the post then appeal using the BPA template in blue from the aforementioned NEWBIES. The NTK must mirror the PCN. In other words the VRN must be the same on both the windscreen ticket and the postal one.
Either it will never arrive because they got the VRN wrong (unlikely as the scammers will probably have taken pics of the VRN) or it will have the correct VRN but will therefore be different to the windscreen PCN.
That will be one of several appeal points.

Do not reveal who was driving, do not contact the scammers until the NTK has arrived.

Yep, where the VRN is written down wrong, always wait and see. Wait for the first letter (NTK) which is still a stage where the KEEPER can appeal - don't appeal as the driver talking about who parked/what happened!

The NTK will likely arrive in March. Do nothing for now, but keep that PCN safe.
