Window handle spindle stuck

Hi everyone,
I've been having some trouble locking the bathroom window so decided to change the window handle.
Anyway I managed to take the 2 screws off (they had to be drilled as it was really rusty) and the handle came off fine but the centre spindle is stuck to the window. I have tried WD40 as suggested in some of the other threads here and have tried pulling it out with pliers but no luck so far. Any suggestions as to how to get the spindle out?
To clarify its a ESPAG window handle.
