bank error - free money?

I went into the bank today to ask them to transfer £200 into my other account, but changed my mind halfway through the transaction and asked to withdraw it in cash instead.
Later when I checked my balance, I found that the transfer had in fact been done and my other account was credited with the £200 that I'd also been given in cash.
Under normal circumstances I would be inclined to let them know of their error, however I'm pretty hard up at the mo and that small windfall would be useful.
So my question is, do you think they will notice?
cheers
James

Nice to see the morals of the country are holding up well. Have you no shame?0 -
actually thats not so true, last week i used natwests 'quick deposit' envelope. i filled in all my details correctly including a phone number.
i did this as there was a massive queue and was in a bit of a rush and didn't mind waitind a while for them to credit it to my account.
next day i checked my account online, it still hadn't gone in. (they are supposed to process these 'quick deposits' when they get a quiet moment or before end of business that day anyway.)
i rang them up stating what had happened and she phoned me back...an hour later. The cashier had done the transaction, put the money in her drawer and not creditted my account...
so tell me, how did natwest not notice the cashiers drawer was 1000 POUNDS UP??????0 -
Possibly because some banks now only get cashiers to balance once a week!actually thats not so true, last week i used natwests 'quick deposit' envelope. i filled in all my details correctly including a phone number.

well, according to a recent poll over 75% of people have "no shame"

still, that doesn't answer my question of whether they will notice the mistake...0 -

So because 75% of people in that poll say they would do it that makes it right?0 -

Please excuse my slightly flippant response. I agree it's not right, but it would help a lot right now.
I do have a conscience about these things and when I am in a better position I would seek to repay my karmic debt by giving the money to charity!
Anyway this may all be wishful thinking because as Keren29 says, it is likely they will notice!0 -
OP - I would not rush to spend the cash as they may well notice, but if not, you have made a nice/ immoral profit (Delete as applicable).
Personally I would keep quiet, but then again I don't like Banks very much and take the view that I need the money more than they do.0 -
Keep the money & keep your fingers crossed that they dont notice I would,
