The PSB is a hammer drill, so I'd buy that one. You need a hammer drill if you want to drill masonry. Maybe you don't now, but you don't want to have to buy another drill should you need to do so in the future.

PSB is a retail drill, GSB is a professional (I think the Germans call them industrial) drill.

Both have percussion (light hammer) action. Screwfix are doing he GSB for £100, good price. The Bosch industrial tools are good, reliable and well made. For a DIY drill that would be perfectly fine, 2 batteries included so you won't be stuck without it working on longer jobs. Good choice.

  • Have a look at the equivalent 18v combi drill by Metabo from someone like FFX - or if you're close to Kent get free tickets to the FFX tool show this month and have loads of fun actually getting your hands on loads of different makes and special offers, the show is at the Kent Show Ground just past the top of Detling Hill on the Sittingbourne road (https://www.ffx.co.uk/).

Benefits of Metabo - metal gearbox, battery compatibility and availablility for years to come (I have to bin 3 good Axminster White cordless drills due to battery failure and non availability of replacements!!).

For basic everyday use also look at the Metabo 10.8V combi drill (be careful, 2 versions, drill/driver and combi, go for the combi) - I have both of the above, and since I bought the 10.8 I hardly ever use the 18V, I'm amazed at the power of the 10.8V.
