    I use any cheap vinegar from the supermarket. One quarter vinegar, the rest water, left in the kettle overnight. In the morning, a good rinse, a couple of boils and it's ready to go. They key is not to let the hard deposits build up too much.

    Incidentally, I often empty a bottle of (cheap) vinegar in the toilet bowl and hey presto, a hygienic, harmless and ecological strong limescale remover has been in action.

    Said vinegar costs me 21p per bottle in Morrisons.
    Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
