Vodafone ..Is this correct?

On 2nd Feb ,I had a feeling that my latest 24 month contract
expired. I tried to get information from the Vodafone app . This turned out to be worse than useless , as they didn't recognise me and in the end I decided to go for live chat . Fair enough . So..
Got into conversation . Contract expires on 2nd Feb . (Exactly same day). I asked why I wasn't informed about this .
Apologies but no idea . Then asked what's the procedure for cancellation ,as my time is up. Then ..the blasted screen froze !

So ,I got another advisor on live chat . Had to go through everything again, in spite of explaining the above .
I now find that : upgrade due in May . Contract ends in July .
How can this be ? I received the Then new phone deal on way to hospital on 2nd Feb 2015.
I tried going sim only back in October , but if I put the new sim in ,and not read the enclosed letter, my phone no. Would've changed .
So , I'm stuck with Vodafone until July . Is it true I can keep same mobile no. If I leave them?'
Thanks

You can take your number I still have my first Vodafone number after half a dozen network changes. As to the rest log onto your account and look at your contract.
