Account showing as closed when it's not

Hi,
We are looking to get a mortgage (first time buyers) so I've been checking my Credit Report. Turns out that my main credit card (paid off each month) is showing as closed with an outstanding balance. Well, it's most definitely not closed!
I contacted the provider who just said that they can confirm the account is open and they had some issues when changing systems (in October!); wouldn't be able to say when this is sorted and the credit file is next updated.
Am I right in thinking that this will quite likely affect my changes of getting a mortgage?
Anything I can do at all to get this sorted quicker?
Thank you

Do you have other active cards?
I've got another two but they're hardly used (the "closed" one pays cashback)0 -
They'll still show some credit history (as will the closed one), and hopefully no late payments etc.
I wouldn't overly worry, but get them to fix it.0 -
OK, thanks - all payments on time so no issues there.
Will it look bad that the "closed" account shows an outstanding balance?0 -
It'll look like it's in paydown mode. Not as good as being cleared in full each month, but not necessarily a problem.0

Raise a 'dispute' with the CRA, and a complaint with the credit card provider, citing the 4th principle of the DPA, namely......principle 4 covers the accuracy of personal data. The Data Protection Act imposes obligations on you to ensure the accuracy of the personal data you process. It must also be kept up to date where necessary.
