OP, you are doing too much work.

Tell the owner, via your solicitor (and let the EA know as well) , that either you get definitive answers on these questions and others (for example, is it working? Who gets the electricuty that is produced? Is there any recompense to you? What rate would you get ?).

Without clear answers, amd ones that you like, walk.

If the seller isn't being transparent about what this involves then leave it. Very few houses are so "individual" that this would be an issue to just brush aside in order to buy. I had to walk away from my first home purchase when the seller phoned me to tell me about the rhinos in the street (no joke) - turned out that she had mental health issues and the house had been off and on the market for an age with different agents as it was her family pressing her to sell and move nearer to them for support. You want a nice, simple, straightforward purchase and this sounds anything but if they haven't got the details on hand at the point of marketing the house. It's not as though it's something that's been discovered at survey stage - the sellers know it's an issue but haven't addressed it. Doesn't bode well in my view.

and as part of Another Joe's excellent advice make crystal sure you know who has the maintenance liability for the panels (the lease may be 25 years but the lifespan of the inverters used in the panels is reckoned to be 10 - 15 years and they are expensive kit) and making good any damage to the panels if you need to do roof repairs yourself or claim the problem is caused by the panel installation
