Several years ago we flew to Calgary , hired a car and drove up to Jasper where we picked up the VIA train across the Inside passage, ferry down to Vancouver Island , hired car and drove to Victoria, ferry to Vancouver and Rocky Mountaineer back to Calgary and flew hime.
The whole trip was planned by American Express. We told them what we wanted to see/do and they put it together for us.
16 days, Two planes, two trains, two automobiles and two ferries., several hotels.
Once we agreed the trip they booked it all and it all went like clockwork.0 -
Hi
We are doing something similar - flying into Vancouver - driving to Calgary - doing the Calgary Stampede - then fly back to Vancouver & home.
I have done everything independently - researched the hotels - contacted them directly, asked & got discounts.
I used Canadian Affairs to book car hire, as they had a sale on with no one way drop off charge.
I looked at the train, but to be honest it is very expensive and I felt you could see / do more by driving.
Going this summer.
