Was it via Northern Rock or via an agent/broker?
NR only sold monthly standalone PPI paid via direct debit. So, you shouldn't need to enquire if you had it. It should be very clear if you have it or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Northern Rock was nationalised and became NRAM.
What you need is this.
http://www.n-ram.co.uk/ppi/secured-loan-ppi
This is what they say;
The premium for a secured loan PPI policy would have been paid by monthly Direct Debit to the specific insurance provider. The premium was not included in the monthly mortgage payments paid to Northern Rock (or now NRAM). As a PPI policy holder, you would therefore see a payment leaving your account each month to the insurance provider. This would be in addition to and separate from any payment leaving your account to Northern Rock/NRAM.
Which basically confirms what dunstonh just said. You should be able to see a monthly DD on your bank statement to some insurance company if you had taken out PPI on your NR mortgage.0
