Errrr.... No. Because Admiral are a broker, not an underwriter.
The OP was not insured with Admiral Group...the parent company; but by a subsidiary company and according to admiral.com - "Admiral is a UK based insurance company, set up 1993 to specialise in Car Insurance."I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
No, just a fact.
In that case, please enlighten us as to which other insurers Admiral place cover with?
There is a broker within the group (Gladiator - but that is for commercial vehicles) and also a price comparison site (Confused), there are other brands - Diamond, Bell, Elephant..
So can you back up your "fact" that the Admiral Insurance brand is a broker? All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
They are still profiting from that customer.
OP do not expect to get Admiral to match that £540 for a new customer. these companies try to give you a cheap quote first year then bump up your premium at renewal. that's why you always look around elsewhere. and they are not so stupid as to think that the Mr Joe Bloggs who insures his AV65 TKG ford fiesta on January 1st, is not the same Joe Bloggs who ended his insurance on his AV65 TKG ford fiesta on 31 December.
I don't agree with this, it is in their interest not to lose you as a customer. However, just because it has never happened to me (they always price match) doesn't make it fact, so I did some digging and found the following article:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/GxZMlJCYgDJ4QKm89r4MrF/car-insurance-is-loyalty-always-rewarded
OP...ask them to price match and let us know how you get on! Oh, and make sure you save the online quote, you'll need the reference. One more thing...it has to be around the same time as you call to renew as insurance prices change on an almost daily basis. Good luck!0
