I have Windows 10.

When I use Edge it spell checks in all applications e.g. Emails(BT or Hotmail) and MSE Forum.

However given the problems I have with Edge - particularly with emails - at the suggestion of someone on this forum I use Firefox. Generally it is much better, excepppt it dooesn'tt spel chheck in MSE or my emails.

There is a box for 'spell check' in firefox 'Browsing' and I have downloaded the 'spell checker' add-on; all to no efffecctt.

Any ideas please?

Might have the answer for you.......
I have 2 computers one running 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium & one running 64 bit 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium
The 64 bit spell checks with no addons etc the 32 bit does not.
I changed to 64 bit after reading a post on MSE about Firefox running better on 64 bit.

In order to enable spellchecking in Firefox, you need to find a multi-line text input box on a website (like the one in which you'd type a reply to a thread on MSE), right-click, and you should see "Check Spelling" (which turns the spellcheker on or off), and a "Languages" option underneath.

The problem is... there are just so many words that Firefox doesn't know!

Thanks - it is now working.

In Edge it will auto-correct 'obvious' spelling mistake e.g 'spelll' to 'spell', but in Firefox it underlines it in red.

P.S. It doesn't like your version of 'spellchecker';)

If you right-click the words that are underlined, you can select from a list of (what Firefox thinks are) correct spellings.

Argh! Firefox doesn't like half the words I use! As I grumbled about here:
