Transfer from Naples airport to Positano

Mrs Caronoel and I are flying into naples about 10 pm on a Sat night and back early morning the following Weds.

Any recommendations for low cost private transport to Positano? I don't fancy hiring a car

Ideas welcome

That time of night I don't think you're going to have a lot of choice, it's either hire a car or take a taxi.

Would you consider staying in Napoli for the night and travelling to Positano in the morning? That would be easily doable with the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento then a bus to Positano.

Obviously you'd have to weigh up the cost of a hotel for 1 night against the cost of a taxi.

Failing that, maybe ask your hotel if they will pick you up.

Have done. It's €130 each way. I just wanted to check if anyone could recommend a cheaper alternative method of transport

I really dislike that train to Sorrento, I'd just go for the best vehicle transfer possible.

TBH, that's about how much it's going to be. There are private transfer companies in Italy, but it's very expensive. The only cheap solutions really are public transport or car hire. Although the route by road the other side of Sorrento is not for the feint hearted, especially late at night!

There is also a bus from Napoli to Sorrento or a ferry, but again that would mean staying overnight.

TBH, with the expense the late night flight is going to give you it might be cheaper to change to an earlier one and use public transport.

I totally agree with peachyprice. You couldn't pay me to drive myself along the Amalfi drive at night. I know quite a few who've driven that route in the daytime...but there's no way I'd attempt it at night and I know the area pretty well. ;)

I'd go for one of two options...
Book an airport hotel and get the cheap €10 bus transfer to Sorrento train station then the local bus to Positano the next morning. Both bus routes are stunning in their own right.

Book a hotel by the harbour and sail round to Positano the next morning.
