Phone insurance proof of IMEI

I have nationwide's flex plus insurance package.

their terms mention that the proof of ownership must show the IMEI number, make and model.

The iphone I got from John Lewis only mentioned the make and mode, but not the IMEI.

Did anyone had the same issue?

You can find the IMEI through settings->general->about.

Alternatively, it will be on the original box, see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204073.

As stated - the box does.

Their terms as for proof of ownership, not proof of purchase, therefore the box could be used as proof of ownership - if the item was lost / stolen.
  • Same happened to me, I bought directly from Apple but the receipt only had the phone serial number listed, not the IMEI. This surprised me as previous purchases from Apple had both listed. I've taken a screen shot of the "about" screen on the phone that shows the matching serial number and associated IMEI.
