urgent help THINK MONEY

Options
1st post,

hoping someone could shine a light on thinkmoney, (seems theyre nothing but hassle)

i had 400 in my card account and to my horror it has disappeared

i logged into my account and seen that the card account balance had been transferred to the salary , which also showed zero , I withdrew money from paypal earlier on in the evening to my card which shows its deposited into salaries but also has disappeared,

I rang their customer service this morning and they said they could not offer an explanation and a customer service rep will be intouch , obviously I didn't take this calmly

has anyone had any experience like this with any other bank ,,

They aren't a real bank but an expensive account provider.

Is there something stopping you opening a current account with a real bank/building society?

That would be my first port of call.

That is EXTREMELY peculiar. If there were fraud I would expect them to provide you with at least an inkling of what transactions had taken place. We're it AML, they'd probably have a better excuse ready for you. That they are being evasive is incredibly sus.

Call up tomorrow and do not take no for an answer. Your money has disappeared and they should be able to clarify where it went.

That's the immediate concern. In the long run, yes, get away from TM, they are expensive and pointless.

    Wonder if he meant 'precedes'?
Not that that makes sense either.
  • I meant precedes...comes before,

I was trying to help, but I'm really struggling with what you are saying here.
I understand you had 2 hours of wasted time calling, presumably 'ThinkMoney', who it seems have made your funds inaccessible or missing in some way.
You've gone on to fill in some paperwork, presumably to open a Lloyds bank account. So far so good.
But who is closing what account? If it's 'Think Money' that is closing your 'ThinkMoney' account, why is that happening? What would the closing of the 'ThinkMoney' account have to do with whatever paperwork you are filling in for Lloyds?
Also, this 'person on the forums': What forums? MSE forums? ThinkMoney's own support forums? Lloyds bank forum, if there is one? Is contacting someone on a forum part of some process?
The way your post reads, the paperwork to open a Lloyds account is an essential step that comes before the closure of the 'ThinkMoney' account.
Do you see my problem? What have those two events got to do with one-another?
What has either event got to do with what ThinkMoney have done with your funds, or getting those missing funds back to you?

I found it comprehensible. OP is having his account closed by Think Money but is also opening a Lloyds account because he's realised TM are a bag of old sh*te.

I personally don't understand the rationale for the closure unless OP isn't telling us something important. TM have such a locked-down product that it's hard to imagine someone doing much evil with it.

OP: how much have you been putting through the ThinkMoney account, as a best estimate? Do you have much money coming in from PayPal often?

So, ThinkMoney are closing his account without consulting him and that's why all his funds have vanished? One would hope that they would make some attempt to explain and get his own money to him on closure. I don't think for one second that it's to do with 'Anti-Money Laundering' regs, or indeed anything to do with 'Acute myeloid leukaemia' :) unless at some point, the OP has made a serious error in TM's account opening process, such as giving a false address.
