I had something similar from an ebay seller who threatened me apparently they had a friend who was a barrister (they named them they were very high profile, dealt with a high profile case) and this barrister was going to take me to court!

I let ebay know who acknowledged my complain and I never heard from the seller again.

Like you I was not in a good place when I received that, if it happened now I would be contacting the barrister in question copying all the emails sent and asking for their response on the situation and what exactly they were taking me to court for (my feedback was factual) I really don't think they would have been pleased about their name being used in that situation.
  • I've also been on the receiving end of really nasty threat stuff (in a different context) and it is scary. One does wonder if the **** making the threat really means it.

I called their bluff. It turned out it was indeed a bluff and they hadnt meant it.

If one is the sort of person that doesnt say something unless you mean it/will do it/etc - then its very odd to realise that there are indeed a noticeable number of people out there that do say things they dont mean and even issue threats they dont mean.

By now - I've learnt to react to any threats/comments like that by shrugging and ignoring and realising it means they arent very bright and/or have underestimated me. Probably means they arent very bright:rotfl:. Anyone that really does have some intelligence/nous just gets on quietly and deals with/blocks things/etc as applicable. So issuing a verbal threat is just words and hot air I've found.

Is there a friend you can talk to? It might make you feel a bit better and help you forget this nasty letter.

I hope you've sorted this out by now but if you haven't I just wanted to assure you that Amazon ALWAYS takes the side of the buyer. My sister and I sell on Amazon and the rules for us are very clear. Amazon's priority are their customers. As sellers anyone who buys from us are not even seen as our customers. We are supposed to reply quickly to any query and do our utmost to provide a great service. Amazon will most definitely want tp know about the way you were bullied and I'm almost certain that the seller who treated you so appallingly will no longer be selling through Amazon.

You have obviously been made very anxious and upset by this letter. I suggest you contact Amazon and also explain you also suffer from mental health issues and that this has made you very distressed. If you do not feel comfortable doing this may I suggest you approach the local police community support officer for help, what this person has done is a crime, it breaches both Postal regulations, Harassment laws and can be construed as threatening behavior.

Do not let one very nasty person spoil your use of the internet, remember in life there are always going to be unpleasant people, but they are in the minority. However they need to be engaged with and you must take action to challenge this as the next person may be more distressed than you are.
