Sorry, I've just worked out how to do it.

For anyone like me who didn't understand, you have to enter the code by clicking on 'redeem' before being able to buy a song.

    Sorry about the useless post...
  • In an attempt to claify the charge for receiving the text, Vodafone said that the charge would be levied by the company, not by them. There is no indication in the rules on the apple website that any charge is involved. The only mention on the apple website is to advise people that they may receive a charge from the mobile phone operator for both sending and receiving texts.
  • Further to my above post, I have spoken to Sponge who are running the promotion of the 85100 number for I-Tunes. They told me that the number is a 'standard tariff' number to send to and that there is no cost to receive texts from this number.
  • it's taking abit of time due to my out of date phone and the fact that it goes off but I am part way thru downloading a whole album track by track and my account shows them as free and my credit reduces by 12p per track. Bargain thanks MSE

After 3 albums of using 'Live' they seem to have caught on. However, got a few more tracks using the other words once each:

"Text one of the following words - ROCK, POP, LIVE, or ITUNES to 85100, and you'll get a message back with a code. Log into the iTunes store, go to buy a music track and you'll have the option to enter a discount code. Pop the code you were sent in there, and the track will be free. You have unti, September 30 to use the voucher."
  • Oh dear. i think the end is nigh. both pop and itunes have resulted in no replies. I think they may have cottoned on..
.. it was good while it lasted.:T
  • Its still going! Got 30 codes last night and been doing it today and have about another 40:money: :rotfl:
