Shop Direct Refund Offset Against Account

After almost 2 years and going through the ombudsman I have eventually received a letter from Shop Direct saying they will refund me my ppi and it will be issued via cheque within 14 days. However when I have logged onto my very account I've noticed they have credited my account. My query is can I insist they send me a cheque as stated in their letter as I am not behind on any payments? The main reason for this is that I want to use the money to pay off other debts with higher interest rates. At the moment I am not paying any interest on my very account as it is on buy now pay later.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They issued and cashed the cheque to your account?
I'm not sure were you stand once it's on your account. Give them a ring/email or write them a letter asking them to remove this off your account and send the cheque....or hold out and see if you get a cheque as well!Debt As Of 19/3/2021: £16,973 | Current Debt: £9,322 | 54.9% Repaid0 -
They just credited it to my very account, thought it was a bit strange when I received a letter today saying I would receive a cheque! I think I'll try giving them a ring tomorrow0

The only way you'll get this sorted is speaking to them, nobody on a forum can assist here because no-one has access to their processes. You should be able to get the money as a credit is of little use as a store credit but you will have to complain about it to them directly.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

If the account is in arrears, defaults or had amounts previously written off, then shop direct can use the redress against their debt. If you are not in this situation, then they can issue the refund to you.
Most card providers pay it to the account, then a day or two later take it back to issue it back to you directly. This is to reset the borrowing period on the money if you are borrowing on the card.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hello,
I have also an account at very(shop direct) opened 4 years ago and I wonder if this company actually charge PPI? On my statement it is not showing any PPI being charged, unless this charge is being hidden.
Does your statement shows any PPI?
Anybody?
Thanks in advance0 -

PPI cannot be hidden, this is a claims company myth
If you had a balance at the end of the month and had PPI it would be charged on your statementSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Nevertheless, if you had a policy it would show on every single statement when your account had a balance and you can bet there would also be a thorough audit trail of you having fully agreed to it.
PPI was never "hidden", that's a myth sponsored by claim companies, on loans it appeared on the Agreement and on credit cards on the statement.0
