Why? You didn't meet the co xitions for using do
Insurers cannot void policies for no MOT (FACT)! That is a myth you seem to be trying to perpetuate.

(And whether or not a vehicle has been taxed is irrelevant too as far as insurance is concerned)

If your insurance states that you can drive vehicles not owned by providing that the vehicle has a valid MOT and current VED then that is what you have to go by

It revolves round the word 'if', and depends on the relevant insurance company.

Some insurers may specify that there is valid MOT and vehicle licence.

Some insurers may specify that there is valid MOT and vehicle licence if it is required - MOT not required for vehicles under 3 years old, and neither required for a vehicle being taken for an MOT.

Some insurers may not mention anything about the requirement for valid MOT or vehicle licence.

Even if it is a requirement, failure to have MOT or vehicle licence would not void the policy in respect of the Road Traffic Act 3rd party cover, although it may affect the cover for other matters.

And given the fact that there's no mention of the vehicle in question not have an mot it's all down to it may not be taxed.

Since we're talking about dov there'd only be third party cover v

OP, rather than asking here, why not call your insurers and ask them. If they say you can, get the name of the adviser, and the number of the team they are part of. That way, if you are stopped by the police, if there is an issue, you have some recourse, having the team number (my wife used to be a supervisor in Customer Services at Admiral in Swansea) will male tracing things quicker.

It amazes me how many people come on to forums for something as significant as whether you are insured or not. If you get an insurance endorsement, you can say goodbye to hiring cars from conventional hire companies like Herz, Avis etc for 4 years. Not to mention higher premiums too.

The only problem is many Insurer's staff will tell you the wrong answer and tell you it would not be covered when in fact it would not be covered. Many do not actually know their own policy so guess at the answer.

Taking a note of the member of staffs details is very good advice
