£80 Parking fee F1RST Parking, at Hertfordshire UNI

So basically the university during December had free parking available in the university parking lot since they were moving the money machines to the ground floor. So i took advantage of this fact as did so many other people, decided to park within the lot and since there were no bays available i parked in an empty area with no bay markings. This resulted in me getting a fine of £40 which i ignored, as advised by my friend. This then led to me receiving a fine of £80 from F1RST Parking. So my issue is the parking was free at the uni lot, so i don't see as to why i would have to pay £80 if they wouldn't have gained any money if i'd have parked within the bays. Its not like the company has lost anything with me parking there. So i'd like to appeal since i've put it off for too long now, i just don't know how to go about it (as in writing the letter). Any advice??

Forget what happened, where you parked and anything about pay machines.
Did you really think a scamming ppc would stop other excuses to charge you?

Read the newbies start here it's all there for you to follow, your mitigation excuses will be ignored though, don't mention who ghd driver was in any communication.

F1rst are dead easy to beat if the registered keeper just appeals using the BPA-member template already written in the 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' thread, followed by the POPLA templates in post #3 of the same sticky thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Alright then, i will certainly look that page up.
    Thank you!

I visited Herts Uni recently for my daughters graduation and as I now take an interest in parking signs wherever I go I think you should post some pictures of them. From memory they are full of errors and I think also 'forbidding'
