Paid for a friend. Do they owe me?

You do not have legal claim towards it because it's only verbal plus you offered it as a gift. I felt bad that you have to take it back when in fact it was a gift in the 1st place. However, it is up to your friend to just reimburse to you what you have paid for but then again it was a gift.

What if I told you that jet fuel can't melt steel beams?
Jokes. I am the "she" in this. My ex other half is saying she has sought legal advice regarding this situation and has been told that she would win. I don't think she actually has and is trying her luck.
I didn't run away from her, I emigrated for work reasons.
Also. The reason I'm not willing to pay her back is because of my property she destroyed when we broke up and because of how petty she is being.
