Need career advice

Hi everyone!
I have been living in the UK for over 2 years. I haven’t worked since I left my country because when I came to London I was beginner in English. Now I feel much confident and I want to start working here.
I have over 8 years experience in quality management and engineering degree. In my last position I was responsible for managing all quality assurance in the manufacturing company that produces electronic components. I have implemented ISO 9001 and IRIS throughout the company and created company’s procedures and processes. I planned and conducted internal audits and supplier audits. Carried out root cause analysis and proposed corrective actions. Working in the manufacturing company I acquired knowledge of the operation of the production company from the vendor selection and purchase of materials and equipment to the delivery of finished products to the customer.
I don’t want to lose my skills and I want to continue working in quality management. The main goal is to become an external auditor.
I need some career advice. What are my opportunities to start a career in the UK? What are the enter-level jobs in companies that suit my experience?

To start with just get any job at all (hide your qualifications if necessary) and go from there, it'd look better on the CV than 2 years not working

  • But what kind of job can I get without any qualification? All job discriptions ask to have at least one year of experience in a particular field. I whole my career worked in the manufacturing company

    Factory work, warehouse work.

Does your visa allow you to work here?

Have you tried an employment agency as a start, see what sort of jobs they have on their books as a start - you might find a clerical job that would allow you to become more familiar with British office life !

Could you use your language skills to get you started - for example there are Russian shops and restaurants in Central London, some Eastern European banks in the City.

    Good luck !

My neighbour's granddaughter has just started an apprenticeship with KPMG, the international consultancy company. They are known mainly for their accountancy services but I think they might also offer different types of business services such as your speciality.

Or a more specialist company :

Another option to get you into a job, albeit not very well paid and a world away from your profession, is healthcare assistant. Such jobs include caring for people in their own homes, working in a nursing home, or within hospitals. Training would be given. It's hard work but it would help you improve your communication skills as well as being good for your CV. Might not be very appealing but a possible short term option
