Can someone please explain how OneNote works.

I presume you can save docs., on a cloud but when I open OneNote and type in a doc., how do I save it there?

Onenote is just like a notebook.
You can jot yourself notes like a diary, or drag files and stuff in there
It all gets listed in chronological order so you can review it later.

You dont need to save, just close the program and the stuff is still there when you open it again

    Thats pretty much it really

Depends on which Cloud they're using.

    Dropbox?
    OneDrive?
    Google Drive?

    etc.

One note is fabulous. You can write notes in it on one device and sync it to another so all of your notes are constantly with you.

You can also copy in word and excel etc and back out again - so great for meeting minutes etc. And you can share a notebook - so if you want to make notes for a team to access and edit you can. You can set up as many as you want and share ea h with different people or keep them private.

We use one note constantly in our business, it's made our lives much simpler.

Some apps that save to the cloud might do it automatically.

It just means they are storing something on a remote computer owned by whichever 'Cloud' storage company you are going to use.
It's all simple and automatic once you set it up.

Once you have put something on one device how do you retrieve it on the other device?

You sign into your account and simply sync it on one or other device. So one note needs to be on both and both need the ability to connect to the internet.
