Parking Eye parking tickets

My grandson has had 7 parking tickets from parking eye which have now gone to DRP (debt recovery plus) which is in fact parking eye. These tickets are for Hartshead moor services at Brighouse. My grandson has never parked in thus services but did use it as a cut through to get to work, you can get out if the services up the side if the truck stop, I got him to take a video so he had proof of the exit which hasn't got a camera on it as parking eye obviously don't think they need one there. DRP are threatening court and each ticket us now £160, have you any advice, he has not contacted them.

I understand this and this is a case where the actual facts are in your favour.

Great having a video and this may be essential if this reaches court so make sure that it records an actual pass through and then also separately there are pictures showing cameras on entry but not on leaving. Also, screen dump picture from Google Earth showing where he enters and leaves on his rat run is needed plus a statement from PE indicating where their cameras are and which ones to the photos.

Doe he use the morning exit without a camera as his entrance on his return journey? What I am getting at is do they have any pictures of his car exiting the area showing the claimed time he left or are the pictures simply a series of entry photos?

And if the show entry and exit, are they showing entry from the East side (say) but exiting from the West side at night?

No it isn't. But fight back:

They got the keeper's data without reasonable cause. He can sue them if he gets it right. Send me a private message if you like.

    2 different companies entirely

one is a parking company (Parking Eye)

DRP is a debt collector , also trading as Zenith and P.C.S.

follow the advice above as its clear he wasnt "parked" at all and the ANPR cameras and computers have made the same mistakes multiple times

    ignore DRP

Hi, thanks for reply, he went in and out of camera exit every time, and in and out of cut through, he works nights as a security guard and this cut through knocked time off his journey, so cameras record him as being there every night all night, which he wasn't. Thank you for the tip about Google earth as well, and I shall tell him to get another video of the cameras in and out. Thankyou

I may not be making myself clear.
If he entered and had his photo taken on the Eastbound entry and then used non-camera exit and then returned home, entering through non camera entrance on other side of motorway and was photographed on the exit to motorway camera, how could he have crossed the motorway unless there were other non-camera exits? There are no crossings within the service area as Google Earth clearly shows.

Obviously there were other exits, not monitored. So you should show that the camera pictures were taken on other sides of road.

Also, does he clock in and out of work and can he produce a time card or any form of management proof he was elsewhere at the time? Not conclusive proof, but all goes to support his case.
  • Hi, on bottom of letters from DRP it says they are members of IPC international parking community and BPA British parking association, and it also says in the letter that if he doesn't pay the fines they will pass the file to their client (who are surely parking eye ?) and recommend that they take court action against him.

I get emails from widows of deposed Nigerian Dictators telling me they want to share millions with me. I ignore them. Suggest you do the same with Debt Collector letters.

Do come back if you get any paperwork from Northampton Court though.

You could, if you so wish, write to PE explaining the facts with pistures, but then they are only likely to erect cameras on the rat run. I would do nothing.
  • Hi sorry, I don't know if he had to criss the motorway but I do know that he went out of the non camera exit and also back in the non camera exit and then out of service station through camera exit, he obviously stopped using it when he got the first ticket, but I will find out all this information, and thankyou very much fir your help

Except for complaining to the ICO about them obtaining your data without reasonable cause (these should never be issued). Check the link I provided and if you wish, send me a pm because this registered keeper has solid grounds to complain then claim money from them. Complain to the ICO first.
