Car insurance claim from 2014

Hi all,

Insured my car as normal and have now received a letter stating that i failed to disclose a 2014 claim....i have never had a accident or made a claim!

How do i find details out about this supposed claim against me? and i have not moved in 20 years surely i would have been notified?

thanks

Ring the insurer at the time and ask them

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

You can make a data request, costs about £10-£15, you get a list of every claim you have made, you can then go to your insurer at the time and request an explaination.

Ask the letter writer to give you the details (did you contact your insurer back in 2014 regarding a loss of some kind but didn't proceed with a claim? They do record such reports even though no claim was made and you are required to disclose losses experienced as well as actual claims)
