Reclaiming Packaged Bank Account Fees

Hi,

I am just starting looking into reclaiming the fees and PPI interest on a packaged Bank account (Barclays Premier Life) I had no idea the overdraft interest had a PPI element. Would this be dealt with on one claim, or should I claim separately for the fees and the PPI element of the overdraft interest?

Thanks,
Purple Ronnie

On what basis do you intend to make the claim for refund of the packaged bank account fees? Why do you think you are entitled to a refund of them?
PPI on an overdraft is unusual. How did you find out that the overdraft interest had a 'PPI element'?

Barclays did offer PPI on overdrafts from memory. However the OP is barking up the wrong tree wanting money back from a packaged account on the basis that their overdraft had PPI. The two are going to be separate products. They've provided no reason for mis-sale either.

  • I had a letter from Barclays stating the overdraft had a PPI element. As I was self employed during the period I had the account, I would not have been able to take advantage of the PPI anyway if I had been out of work.

Some PPI did/does cover the self-employed. It's worth checking what the actual policy terms were.
