Alliance and Leicester Card

I have an historic debt from 10 years ago, that I have paid PPI on when I look back at my statements, but I have been told that I have no recourse to reclaim PPI on this account, when I look for A&L on the list in MSE, I can't see it there, does anyone know who owns those debts now, or who the Alliance and Leicester was bought by?

You can't just ask for it back, why do you think it was mis-sold?
If a complaint was successful any recompense could be used to cover any outstanding debt.

I think it was mis-sold because it was a pre-ticked box, and I wasn't told I could choose not to have it. I was self-employed at the time and was never given the option to claim when I got into difficulties. This account I have all the statements from the outset, can't think what possessed me to keep them!
