I had smart meters installed by Ovo about 18 months ago. They had to come back to change the gas meter and when they did they didn't register it so Ovo could never get the readings from it. Changed supplier about three months ago to First Utility and they have told me they can't get information from those meters and would need to install their own. As I will probably change suppliers again at the end of my contract I have told them not to bother and I have to send them my meter readings. The whole thing seems like a total waste of time.

Pretty one sided cheap abysmal program as you would expect from ITV..Badly researched and the best boss they could cobble up was the Green Energy two-bit mini supplier. The government decision to allow rank amateurs like the suppliers to install smarts at a horrendous cost is behind these billion pound figures. ONLY the UK government would think that was a good idea ! Its a bigger mistake than that Northern Irish subsidy debacle .
I ve just had a text from a friend of mine who fits smarts for EON and he was surprised BG have a target of 5 a day.He does no more than three on a good day and one or two fitted in a day is normal.
